There is a fantastic display of images from the George Street Photography Collection at our friends The World of Glass. Alongside collection photographs, you can also view selected original glass plate negatives and vintage cameras as well as posting your memories from St Helens in the memory box.
The display includes information on glass plate photography, the discovery and recovery of the George Street Photography Collection as well as wedding, passport photographs and images from the glass industry.
The World of Glass an award winning museum and recommended day out. As well as museum galleries housing over 7,000 items within the St. Helen’s Heritage Collection and the Pilkington Glass Collection; you can also view incredible live glass blowing demonstrations, explore the underground tunnels of an original Pilkington glass making furnace, be inspired in the art gallery and amazed by a two-tonne Manchester Airport Venitian chandelier. You can also get a tasty bite to eat in the canal-side cafe and browse the gift shop for unique gifts and souveniers.
